چکیده
The objective of this study was to analyze the nutrient composition and variability university dining hall food waste compare it with common feedstuffs used in ruminant monogastric diets. Food categorized into two initial streams: mainstream (MS) from serving line vegetable preparation (VP) kitchen. Waste collected Kramer Dining Center, Kansas State University, resulting 30 daily samples. weighed ground homogenous particle size. Daily samples MS VP were analyzed for composition, where results combined calculate profile a hypothetical mixed stream (MX) composited by total weight. Data using R statistical software (v 4.2.2). Moisture neutral detergent fiber (NDF) greater (P , while ether extract (EE) less compared MX. Crude protein (CP) digestible nutrients (TDN) energy than MX, which also content, measured standard deviation, similar > 0.05) among streams NDF, nitrogen-corrected fiber, acid insoluble crude protein, CP, ash, lignin, metabolizable energy. Dry matter EE variation whereas P % - 80% moisture, does have nutritive value potential be included Further research needs done understand including animal

Generic protozoal counts were not different (P > 0.05) among treatments, corresponding with similar banding profiles from DGGE. Multivariate statistics showed no difference (P > 0.05) in generic distribution of protozoa in ruminal vs. omasal samples, supporting absence of selec...
